Free Bahama Getaway vacation…ligit or scam?

I was in Madeira Beach, FL this past week and filled out a little slip to enter my name for a free Bahama Cruise/hotel stay for two. I got a phone call from a girl in the restaurant stating I had won. So she gave me the number to the travel agency called "Bahama Getaways", which is located in St. Petersburg, and I talked to one of the receptionists there and questioned her about the whole thing, and she claims it’s ligit, and that there are, of course, taxes for the trip that will have to be paid, and that they will send me a package in the mail to explain the trip in further detail.

The cruise ship is the Discovery and the hotel in the Belle Channel Inn on Grand Bahama Island. The trip can be vouchered out anytime in the next 18 months. She said her boss puts on this promotion because he lives there and wants to bring people into the area so they come back again, and that he is a nice Irish man. Is anyone familiar with this company, or has anyone actually gone on this trip? Any advice would be appreciated!!

Hi there, if you have recieved the Free 2/2 caribbean Cruise Bahamas celebration in your mail. and you have called it. It is NOT a scam./ I called and got my free cruise and they offered me an extended stay option in ft lauderdale3/2 and orlando 3/2 as well as puerto vallarta, mexico and las vegas, nevada. my wife and i went and did all this. we had 18 months plus a six month extension added to take all of our vacations.

granted- yes the boat has been redone, but it is nice. yeah the inside stateroom is small. but thats why u ask for any upgrades. and i didnt have money on my card. so they gave me a payment plan of 88.64 cents that was 12 payments. that was the top dollar upgrade. and i got to cruise now and then pay later. you definately do get your money’ worth. but it was very pleasant. I dont why people say this is a scam. they told me everything up front. and didnt ask my card number til the end. and i had the option of taking the extended stays. and i took them. i have had many people tell me they loved it too. so people you all are reading too far into this.

just calm down. yes there are dicKheads at every place you call or go. you just have to be aware it is there job to tell you everything about the promotion going on at hand. they aren’t trying to scam you out of your money. they want you to vacation and it is up to you if you want to go or not. they dont put a gun to you and force you to go they simply offer this to you. as they stated we were just selected out of a random database. i was just one of the lucky few

So dont read to far into it. because they are good people…

thanks robin
